alphabets and slippers / haul #25

Hola guys, two posts in two days - can you tell I'm on study leave!?

In my last EE I mentioned I had made a little ASOS haul (their 'sale' will be the death of me!). Without realising my style has gone a little 'preppy' lately, I have always dressed borderline boyish, but I get the feeling if I dressed up in my latest attire I would look a little Oxford don wannabe!

I know you're probably thinking Christ, has this girl ever ventured into a real-life shop, but seriously I love ASOS and I think I prefer shopping there than in an actual shop!

I'm a big fan of ASOS footwear, and I have wanted a pair of slipper shoes for a while. When The Persian Babe featured a black velvet pair from ASOS a while ago, I kept an eye out and soon enough this LEO pair cropped up in the whirlwind of a sale that is ASOS's. I'm so fussy about shoes, and these meet the criteria perfectly, they are super-comfortable (as you might expect from velvet slippers!), they have a slight heel (probably about an inch thick) and they will match a lot of my outfits. They're also perfect for this limbo weather, as they're neither too warm or cold. Oh, and of course, no toe cleavage ;)

My second purchase was this alphabet-print shirt. I was really excited when I ordered this; the unusual alphabet print, the contrasts and also the nifty price tag of £15. Now, I should probably say this looks pretty unflattering on the hanger, it does have a crop fit (the sleeves are normal length), and at first I thought the style would look a bit 80s! However, it's actually not as boxy on my frame, I am quite tall so with a top underneath it (probably essential if you occasionally lift your arms ;), it looks fine; plus it is mainly the contrasting red and black colours and the print that attracts me! Although when I put it on initially (sans ironing), my sister asked me why I'd "spent £15 on a pajama top and not even bothered to buy the trousers"!

Also, in person it is actually not cream as it appears on ASOS and on here, but it's more yellowy toned, a bit tea-stained looking?!

The cuties at ASOS also added a free mini of Hawaiian Tropic sun lotion, this will be going away for summer needless to say!

Time for coffee and magazine freebies I should think :)

PS. Preview of my next post anyone..?
